ABOUT THE DOCTOR
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Schiller has been solving difficult problems of unresolved pain, functional loss, and other difficult-to-treat symptoms.
Commonly treated problems include: Back and neck pain, sciatica, post-traumatic pain, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, traumatic brain injury, fibromyalgia, functional GI disorders, fatigue, post-covid and other post-viral syndromes, headache, stress-related illness, depression/anxiety.
He creates a healing partnership with his patients through respectful and appreciative dialogue that supports patient engagement in self-care. He begins each encounter with a comprehensive review and understanding of the conventional medical diagnoses and issues.
He also views the situation through the lens of systems biology and natural medicine.. That means understanding the interconnections of all the body systems, the role of lifestyle and nutrition, together with the emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and spiritual context of his patients and their lives.
It's not about “alternative medicine” or any rigid philosophy. He aims to understand his patient's challenges on the most comprehensive level, and based on the clinical picture, mechanisms of pain and symptoms, the best available research, and the patient's values. The therapeutic approach draws on state of the art knowledge of conventional pain and rehabilitation treatment, lifestyle medicine, functional medicine, osteopathy, and mind-body-spirit healing.
He earned his M.D. at Duke University and completed double-residency training in Internal Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School in 2000. He completed a fellowship in complementary medicine at University of Maryland.
Besides in-person visits, he sees patients via telemedicine in Israel, NY, NJ, CT, VA, & FL.
