ABOUT THE DOCTOR
Dr. Elisha Fredman is a Radiation Oncologist with subspecialty expertise in genitourinary cancers, including prostate, kidney, bladder, and urinary tract malignancies. He is a recognized expert in the SpaceOAR hydrogel spacer procedure and advanced radiation techniques for prostate cancer.
Born in the United States, Dr. Fredman completed his medical education and specialist training in Boston and Cleveland. Prior to making Aliyah in August 2021 with his wife and four children, he served as Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at Geauga Medical Center, the university-affiliated hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Fredman currently leads prostate and genitourinary radiation treatments at the Davidoff Cancer Center (Beilinson Hospital) in Petach Tikva, where he also heads research and innovation in oncologic radiotherapy. He is among the leading physicians in Israel using SpaceOAR hydrogel spacer technology—an image-guided, minimally invasive preparatory procedure performed prior to prostate radiotherapy to reduce radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue and minimize side effects. During the same procedure, he also places fiducial markers to enhance treatment precision.
Dr. Fredman has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, contributed chapters to professional textbooks, and lectures internationally. He is actively involved in developing advanced applications of spacer technology and serves as the sole Israeli consultant to the company developing this treatment. His research focuses on improving the effectiveness, safety, and tolerability of radiation therapy for prostate cancer.
