ABOUT THE DOCTOR
"Dr. James Melotek is a board-certified radiation oncologist specializing in breast cancer, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and advanced image-guided radiation therapy techniques. He currently serves as a radiation oncologist at Ichilov (Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center) in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Prior to relocating to Israel, Dr. Melotek founded and led two community-based radiation oncology practices in Florida, USA, where he developed expertise in state-of-the-art radiotherapy delivery, including SBRT, SRS, deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH), and surface-guided radiotherapy (SGRT). His clinical interests focus on optimizing cancer outcomes while minimizing treatment burden and toxicity through evidence-based treatment strategies.
Dr. Melotek is actively involved in clinical research, with a particular focus on breast cancer radiotherapy, accelerated treatment schedules, partial breast irradiation, regional nodal irradiation, and re-irradiation. He has developed and led prospective clinical trials investigating ultra-hypofractionated breast radiotherapy and single-fraction treatment approaches aimed at improving patient convenience while maintaining excellent oncologic outcomes.
He completed his medical training in the United States and remains committed to advancing patient-centered cancer care through clinical innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and translational research. His work emphasizes the integration of modern radiation techniques with emerging systemic therapies to improve quality of life and long-term outcomes for patients with cancer."
