Dr. Westreich is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and an experienced clinician with a long-standing career in academic psychiatry, psychotherapy, and medical education. In addition to his medical training, he holds a Master’s degree in Education and has served in numerous leadership roles across both formal and informal educational settings.

Since making Aliyah, Dr Westreich works at the Young Adult Clinic at Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem, where he continues to train psychiatry residents. Additionally, he teaches social work students through the Wurzweiler–Amudim Program at the JCT clinic.
Previously, Dr. Westreich served as Director of the Adolescent Inpatient Unit at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where he combined clinical leadership with teaching and academic work.

Dr. Westreich brings extensive expertise as a clinician, educator, academic, diagnostician, and psychotherapist. He works with young adults and adults, as well as couples and families, addressing a broad range of mental health challenges. His clinical approach is thoughtful and evidence based, and he is widely regarded as approachable, insightful, and empathic.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Westreich is an active speaker, mentor, and consultant, offering consultations for program development and providing guidance for clinicians, students, and medical professionals, particularly in complex clinical cases and mental healthcare service development.
