Every country has its own clinical guidelines, and Israel is no different.
In many cases, the guidelines you are already familiar with will still apply. For example, ADA diabetes guidelines and GOLD COPD guidelines are widely accepted and used in Israel.
For most residency programmes, being familiar with the relevant specialty guidelines is critical for board examinations. Residency syllabi clearly list the key guidelines that are tested. For example, for family medicine board exams, American Family Physician review papers together with Israeli clinical guidelines form the core study material.
The various Israeli specialty societies and professional unions publish their own clinical guidelines on a wide range of topics. These guidelines are written in Hebrew and are often uniquely tailored to the Israeli healthcare system, taking into account local medication availability, regional microorganism resistance patterns, and specific societal or healthcare-system factors.

Another important resource is the booklet for Health Promotion and Preventative Medicine (קִידּוּם בְּרִיאוּת וְרְפוּאָה מוֹנַעַת).
This is an Israeli evidence-based guide to health promotion, preventive medicine, and early detection across all ages. It consolidates international (USPSTF, European) and Israeli Ministry of Health recommendations, adapted to local epidemiology and the Israeli healthcare system. Most recommendations meet USPSTF A–B evidence levels, with some expert-consensus guidance where evidence is limited. Organized by age groups, it covers screening, vaccinations, and healthy lifestyle interventions, and serves as a recommended (not mandatory) educational resource for clinicians and trainees.
